Saturday February 6, 2010

Same routine morning as always, wake up around 10:30, lay in bed for a bit watching TV, and then finally getting my ass up for my morning cup of coffee. I cruise into the kitchen to obtain my morning fix and am greeted by an already awake Tool and V, who are having a smoke session and playing Blitz on 64. I grab my mug of coffee and chill out on the couch to bullshit with them for a bit while I wake up. V has to go to the mall today to return some clothes and has conned my brother into taking the trip with him. Seeing as I don't work until 6:00 tonight, I opt to tag along for the trip. I cruise back into my room and throw some clothes on.

We head over to the Yorktown Mall and start to cruise through the place. V realizes he left his clothes in the car, but opts not to go back and get them, thus rendering the trip to the mall pointless at this very moment. Seeing that we were already in the mall, we decide to just cruise around and do some impulsive shopping. We hit up Van Mauer, where V buys himself some dress shirts. Tool and I proceed to walk around the store and laugh at some of the fucked up articles of clothing that people actually dress themselves with. V tries on his shirts, pays for them, and we cruise out to walk the rest of the mall. We make a stop by Lucky Strike, where Mary works, but she looks super busy, so we throw her a wave (which she doesn't see) and then cruise. V suddenly decides he needs to buy a copy of Don't Be A Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, so we hit up a directory to see if there are any movie stores left standing in this mall, which there are not. We decide to cruise from the mall and hit up Disc Replay down the street, which sell used DVD's and CD's. On the way out, we make a pit-stop at the candy store and pick up a few bags of assorted sweets. It's a great time, to say the least.

We head over to Disc Replay where V fails to find a copy of the movie. I check out the used Blu-Ray shelf, but there are really none that I am eager to buy. V picks up a Stevie Wonder concert CD, and we decide to take a trip next door to Best Buy to try our luck there. V finds his movie, and I, again, hit up the Blu-Ray section to see if I find any deals. I stumble upon one of my new found favorites, this flick called The Fall, that I just watched over the summer for the first time. It was a brilliant film and had excellent visuals, making for a must-see on Blu-Ray. Unfortunately, I couldn't bring myself to spend $30 on the one movie, so I keep looking around for discount titles. I find Pan's Labyrinth for $12 on Blu-Ray, so I snag that one. I don't really find anymore within that price range, so I settle for the Guillermo Del Toro gem, which I love, so it's not a disappointment in any way.

We head back to the condo and it's just about time for me to get ready for work. I throw on my work clothes and spend the remaining half-hour updating the diary. I cruise just around 5:30 to make it there by 6:00, which I do.

Work goes smoothly and no one comes in, making it easier to shut the place down and get the fuck out at our 10:00 closing time. We get out just about ten after and I cruise home, shooting a call over to Justin on the way. He says he's at home with Mary, Stein, and Phil. I tell them to grab a case and come on over. I get home and throw on my sweatpants and robe. Tool, V, Hart, Chris T., and Litwicki all are in the living room peeping out Don't Be A Menace..., so I check out the flick for a little bit before my posse arrives. Once they do, we opt to cruise into my room to throw on a Blu-Ray, as Stein and Mary have never seen a movie on Blu-Ray before. We settle on V for Vendetta.

The movie ends just around 12:30 and Tool has since gone to bed. We decide to head out to the table and play some cards while we attempt to kill the case. Mary cruises not too long after, stating that she had a family function to attend fairly early in the morning. The rest of us play cards and drink more beers into the wee hours of the morning.

3:00 AM rolls around and Stein decides to cruise home, leaving me with Justin and Phil. Mary had taken Justin's car home, leaving them without transportation. They both agree to crash at my place for the night, meaning that we had even more time to chill and finish the 30-case. Feeling pretty hammered as it is, I drunkenly agree to play some more cards. We get into some pretty intense rounds of Texas Hold 'Em, which lasts till around 4:30 AM or so. During the last few games, we get on the discussion of psychics, as Phil had just gone to see one earlier today. It's a heated conversation, one that ultimately leads to a pretty heated argument over the validity of psychics. I won't go into detail about who was on which side, but I will say it was Justin and I ganging up on Phil (not like that, fuckers). It was all in good spirits, and we weren't about to start throwing fists or anything, but it certainly was a heated debate, one that we never agree on. Just about 6:00 AM, we decide to agree to disagree on the subject matter, as the sun is coming out and we're all just too drunk at this point to think logically. Phil and Justin crash on the couches watching TV and I cruise into my room, where I proceed to pass out watching Chasing Amy, while I watch the sun rise outside my window.
